Favours, Solutions & Get Someone To…

In this lesson you **ask for favours**, **offer solutions**, and use **get + person + to + verb** — someone makes someone else do something.

**favour** (UK) / **favor** (US) = a kind act of help (لطف)

• He was asking for a favour.

When someone has a problem, suggest **get + person + to + verb** or **Maybe you could get…**

• A: Do you think I could borrow your car this afternoon? Mine's at the repair shop, and I need to pick up my mom at the airport.
• B: Gee, I'm sorry, but I'm going to need it. I have a doctor's appointment.
• A: No problem. I'll think of something.
• B: Hey, I have an idea. Maybe you could get Jack to lend you his car.

**get + person + to + base verb** — you persuade or arrange for someone to act. Past: **got** · Future: **will get** · Suggestion: **Why don't you get…**
